Seminar on “The Opportunities and Challenges of Global Business” 

We are pleased to inform that Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce (PCCC) Transport, Logistics & Customs Committee and The Society of Logisticians, Malaysia (LogM) Entrepreneurs Section will jointly organize a seminar on the topic “The Opportunities and Challenges of Global Business” at the date, time and venue as follows:

First speaker is Log. Leong Kin Wah with his presentation on topic “The Development of Cross Border Logistics in South East Asia”. He works as the Executive Director of EW Logistics & Transport Sdn Bhd. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in managing the cross border logistics operations in Southeast Asia. The said alternative logistics mode facilitates the trade possibilities to the industries and businesses rather than the usual sea and/or air transportation. His vast logistics and supply chain experience includes 3PL, distribution, warehousing and cold chain operations across the region.

Log. Leong is a graduate of Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) (UK) and Asia e University (AeU). He is now a DBA candidate at AeU.

Log. Leong has been a National Council Member of The Society of Logistician, Malaysia (LogM) and Secretary of The CILT in Malaysia (Penang Section) since 2015. Additionally, he also serves as an Industry Advisor to Lincoln University College, Adjunct Lecturer to UTM, CILT and AK Academy and Divisional President to St John Ambulance of Malaysia AK Academy Combined Adult Division (I).

Second speaker is Log. Ranni Selvaraju. She will deliver the topic “Limitations of Export and Import in the context of Malaysia”.  Log Ranni is currently holding the position of Manager (Freight) in AK Shipping Sdn Bhd, which is wholly owned by AK VENTURES BERHAD Maritime Logistics Group of Companies. Humbly, she has a total of 24 years of professional experience in handling and managing the operations of indoor and outdoor activities for X-PRESS FEEDERS and AK SHIPPING including its related liner agencies in the Northern Malaysia over the years. In short, she is an expert in solving the export and import related cases, usually disputes including shipping, freighting, multimodal and documentations.

Log. Ranni is a graduate of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) (UK) and Asia e University (AeU). She is now a DBA candidate at AeU. She is also the Secretary of Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) in Malaysia (Penang Section) and an Internal Auditor to both The Society of Logistician, Malaysia (LogM) and the CILT in Malaysia (Penang Section) and Corps Staff Officer (Secretarial Affairs) to St John Ambulance of Malaysia AK Academy Corps. She does part-time lecturing  at UTM, CILT and AK Academy, as well.

Third speaker is Mr. Louis Lim, Southern Regional Manager of Avanti Loyalty Sdn Bhd. He will present the topic on “Future Trends In E-Wallet” which including Main Agency For Boost, Touch N Go and Maybank E-Wallet.

Industry 4.0 is a new digital industrial technology that makes it possible to gather and analyse data across machines, enabling faster, more flexible and more efficient processes to produce higher-quality goods at reduced costs.

This manufacturing revolution will increase productivity, shift economics, foster industrial growth, and modify the profile of the workforce – ultimately changing the competitiveness of industries, companies, countries and regions.

The objectives of the seminar are to familiarise local industry players with the Industry4WRD Policy, Readiness Assessment (RA) Programme and Industry 4.0 related incentives, and to facilitate interested companies to enroll in the RA Programme.
